For The Capture, I had the pleasure of collaborating once again with Showrunner Ben Chanan — our fourth project together — as well as Directors Anthony Philipson and Johnny Allan, and working for the second time with the incredibly talented Production Designer Cristina Casali. Building on my original costume design for Series 1, the wardrobe for this latest series is heightened, stylized, and more polished, creating a sense of authority and seriousness while feeling more threatening, in keeping with the show’s intense, cinematic tone.

A key design feature was how the costumes leaned into the colour palettes of the environments, then were collaboratively separated from the background through clever, pre-planned use of light and shadow, ensuring the characters were in sync with their surroundings but still visually lifted from them. One of the highlights was redesigning Rachel Carey’s iconic green coat, which remains one of the costume items I get asked about most frequently, maintaining its iconic status while fitting the evolved visual tone of the series.
